am i really gonna get on my soapbox to talk about fear and power
and the absurdity of it all
again?
hello, anti-reader and welcome back to the anti-experience. i’m your host, lexi.
a time ago i asked myself what i consider to be a very important question.
the question / la pregunta :
what cycles of generational trauma do i absolutely refuse to pass down to future generations?
take a second…… get up and brew some tea. have a glass of water. maybe have a stretch or close your eyes and take a few very deep breaths. i just did. i’m outside and now the wind is blowing strong causing my hair to caress my body. nice.
okay are you comfy? now maybe you want to think about this for a second…. what cycles of generational trauma do you absolutely refuse to pass down to future generations? maybe you don’t want to think about it. your choice. note it.
my answer? fear.
i’ve seen it cripple and i’ve seen it kill. i’ve seen it be used to control and to shame. i’ve seen it do enough damage that i decided i wouldn’t let it take over my life, guide my perceptions, control my actions. i don’t wanna pass that one on to others.
man, the illusions!
at the end of the day- fear has as much control as we give it. and that doesn’t mean we don’t get scared but, you know, we don’t let it keep us from experiencing life. otherwise what’s really the point?
of all the discourse yesterday i like what Lacey said best:
the government isn’t our daddy that is going to come save us.
the government has never given a shit about our wombs.
you don’t have to fear your own body.
in oppressive states it’s a beautiful act of rebellion to nourish ourselves.
there have always been other ways
= community care
= we protect us.
i don’t want to discuss the government because it doesn’t deserve my power but i will say that it is not in our best interest to be living in fear. you know one of the things that fear cripples? imagination, where everything new and possible is born. yes yes, how convenient would it be for a state that seeks control to sedate those they seek to control with fear and put (keep) them in a survival state rather than allow them a modicum of perceived safety lest they realize their power in numbers and limitless grounds for creative problem-solving to be harvested. all seeded by that original imagination.
your attention is your most valuable currency- spend it wisely.
remind your body, your nervous system that it is safe. that y’all got this. that, since the beginning, it has been community members taking care of each other. we all have something unique to offer. the government is a newborn baby in the lifespan of humanity and its already on its way out. people are waking up to the fact that these states and institutions were not designed to protect us at all.
what if we didn’t have to react, at all, to the atrocities legislated by a handful of people because we were already taking care of each other so freaking well that we weren’t looking to outside entities that don’t even exist in our realities to tell us what we can and cannot do with our lives? with our own bodies??
i mean, admit it… it sounds pretty ridiculous. there are more effective directions to point our attention and energy at. this is my opinion.
some herbs to soothe your nervous system
oat straw
nettles
lemon balm
red clover
chamomile
have em as teas or tinctures. take with love.
i’m gonna go now
and get to daydreamin’
as these antiquated states and systems, that do not serve me, begin to collapse what kind of world do i want to live in? can i describe this without mentioning what i do not resonate with in the current one?
can i use my currency wisely? on the things that i actually want to achieve
that’s all for today.
i love you
talk to me about your dreams.
create !
