To do anything in Galicia, specifically nature related, a car is quite helpful. At times, necessary. But on the Islands of the Gods no cars are allowed save that V8 maintenance truck I saw a couple times.
Sometimes I pray for the rain…
But Jessica Pratt (x) has obviously never lived in Galicia where there is no need to pray for rain as it is a hallmark characteristic of the region! It’s green here, after all, and you don’t get that without a little rain. Rather, alotta rain. When I first moved here it rained for over 40 days in a row. Just now, as I write this on the final days of June, I got up to close the windows because the breeze was too cold. We temporary residents joke that there is no summer here and to be fair it doesn’t ever get all that hot. Although the region apparently hit record temps one weekend while I was on a beach at the coast and our photo ended up in the news because of it. I swear you have to make a concerted effort to not end up on the news for something random here.
