i spy a rock
up on the hill
shaped like a tower
that i’d like to hold
and inhale
like a flower
but like always
the rock held me
yesterday i spent the entire day in a special place shown to me by a dear friend. this special place is acres upon acres of incredible sandstone boulders. boulders averaging 30-40 feet high, but many smaller ones as well. it’s a grounding, humbling experience to roam in awe at this sea of boulders seemingly dropped upon the appalachian plateau. we barely scratched surface. wonderful.
the day was exhausting and beautiful and isn’t really meant to be described using words. i wanted to document the experience for you, anti-Reader, and i did the best i could but to be honest i hardly touched my phone the entire day. i got footage in maybe two or three spots but the rest were to be lived and loved there and there they shall remain. it wasn’t a day of many words neither am i able to describe it with them so i put together this lil reel together for you all. my hope is that it makes you want to get outside and learn about yourself through Nature’s lens. that’s my favorite hobby :D
one of my little bros told me i should make a tik tok for my videos. talk me out of it!
oh, on that note i’d like to add that….
*i am working to stop sharing as much of my own personal creative content (photography, writing, poetry, videos) on social media because MeTa doesn’t deserve to own our art and doomscrolling sucks and it’s simultaneously overstimulating and numbing and etc etc.
